Vita Independent Living was built specifically for seniors with low—and moderate-incomes. Residents must meet three eligibility requirements.

Your out-of-pocket cost is dependent on the care services you require. There are also programs available that may be of financial assistance to you.

Indiana’s Aged & Disabled (A&D) Medicaid Waiver
To be eligible for the EPD Waiver, you must meet a residential care facility level of care. Your Area Agency on Aging determines this when you apply for the A&D Waiver. Once enrolled in the A&D Waiver, Medicaid will cover the monthly fees for the cost of care services and you will pay for your apartment rental

Veteran’s Aid & Attendance
Wartime veterans and their surviving spouses, 65 years and older, may be entitled to financial aid to help offset the cost of assisted living provided by the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Age: A person must be of age 65 years or older.

Level of Care: A person must need the assisted living services offered at Vita Independent Living. Care services include activities of daily living (ADLs), which could be bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, medication management, and transferring. This will be determined by your doctor and our assessment process.

Income: Your income must be below $35,580 per year (2022), and you must qualify through a community-completed verification process.
